The Pretendy Chef programme launched in 2022 by delivering a weekly SEN School kitchen workshop, and from this we developed a range of classes, events and workshops.
In 2024 we commenced running a weekly cafe club from the John Willie Sams centre in Dudley, Cramlington and we offer a variety of cookery workshops and classes, aimed to be fun and educational for the whole family of all abilities who simply wish to learn new skills and techniques to cook.
Community Workshops
Our community workshops are aimed at adults, however any child aged 8 and over may also participate. Each participant must purchase a ticket.

Private Group Workshops
We can cater for groups of up to 16, depending on your facilities we may be able to come to you – if not we can host here at the John Willie Sams, depending upon availability. If you wish to know more drop us an email to bookings@quadrantleisure.org Prices for groups are tailored to your needs, minimum number of participants is 8, maximum is 16 per session.
School Workshops
We are currently delivering cooking workshops to students in three primary schools, these offer students valuable life skills as well as being really good fun! To find out more click here.
Social Activities
We currently deliver a weekly ‘Weetslade Community Hub’ at the St Paul’s Church Hall, Market Street, Dudley NE23 7HR every week on a Tuesday & Friday 11.30am-1.15pm.
On a Tuesday we also include our Weetslade lunch club from 12noon, from 18 June this shall relocate over to the John Willie Sams Centre, NE23 7HS. For more details, please visit our Hub page here
