Here at our main venue, the John Willie Sams Centre, Dudley, North Tyneside NE23 7HS we have a fantastic resource available to us to maximise community wellbeing. We will do this through our Community Garden, Health & fitness classes, community cookery workshops and volunteering opportunities. See below for more details.

Community Garden

Our raised beds were only possibly thanks to funding in 2021 from the The National Lottery Ikea Community Fund and the hard work of MBS Gardens. From the eleven beds built, one was donated to Forward Assist Veterans Charity and another to the Ladybird Childrens Nursery, both based at the JWS.

In November 2023 we relaunch the Community Garden Scheme in association North Tyneside Council’s Employment & Skills team as part of their Multiply project. To sign up for the garden scheme, contact us here and if you wish to know more about Employment & Skills click here

Health & Fitness

Our very own Qfit Gym is based here at the centre with a fully accesible gym facility and group activities for older adults. To find out more, visit the Qfit Gym website here.

Pretendy Chef

Our community cookery classes are proving to be very popular since we commenced in October 2022, to see what classes are available, please visit the booking page here.

Volunteering

We can’t do what we do without our staff and just as importantly, the support of the community and volunteers. If you are looking to get involved with any volunteering opportunities, find out more here.
