The Youth Zone is our commitment to supporting young people.

The first project under this banner will be Active Youth

The Active Youth project puts health and wellbeing at the heart of how we work and all we do. We are working intensively to support the health and wellbeing of both members and staff to achieve a long-term systemic change in operations and impact.

The project aims to achieve a consistent, high-quality approach to delivering health outcomes across all young people, with health underpinning all activities.

We have two objectives for the project:

to focus on individual healthy behaviours, and

to create environments that promote healthy behaviours as the ‘norm’.

The Active Youth project is creating…

  • a systematic and embedded approach to health.
  • wider participation in health projects.
  • a ‘whole Network’ commitment to nutrition.
  • wider partnerships and access to services.
  • a skilled and healthy workforce.
  • stronger and more robust evidence of impact.

Active Youth helps inactive young people become active again through a series of fun and engaging physical activities delivered in small groups with peer young leaders.

The Active Youth project aims to break down the barriers and insecurities around physical activity, helping to increase confidence, self-esteem and promoting healthy behaviours. Future phases will build on this and work with our inactive members to inspire them and to provide opportunities to try new physical activities.

The Active Youth project is FREE and aimed at 8 to 13 year olds. Whilst we accept walk-ins, we must have full parental consent in advance before anyone can take part in activities.

The form below is for an adult / guardian aged 16 or over to consent for the child before they attend.
